Our health is something that is always at the forefront of our minds. We want to instil healthy habits into our lives and improve ourselves as a result. If nothing else, we want to be remembered and encouraged to be the best versions of ourselves. For some people, this can be more difficult to initiate than it is for others. Nonetheless, instilling positive change in our health is always a good thing, something to be proud of. When it comes down to it, making healthy choices is always positive, but nothing will have as much of an impact on one’s health as a healthy, balanced diet.
Once healthy habits around a healthy diet are instilled, they can easily become second nature. It takes a lot of work, but it is entirely worth it. At the end of the day, there are three key lifestyle changes that ultimately lead to a happier, healthier individual and lifestyle. Each different, they also go hand in hand, making them the perfect trifecta to integrate into one’s life at the same time, or one after another. It all depends on the individual. But one thing is certain – these three healthy habits will have tremendous impact on one’s whole health.
Actively choose whole Foods
It might seem like an obvious choice to some, but for others it can genuinely be difficult to actively choose whole foods and replace processed items with them. One great tip to initiating this change is making the active choice to shop in the outer rings of the grocery store. This is where the whole foods are generally kept (apart from some rice, pastas, etc). In limiting shopping to these areas of the grocery store as much as possible, it is easier to avoid the temptation of the processed foods that are in the inner aisles.
Take your Vitamins and Supplements
Sometimes, through no fault of our own, it is genuinely not possible to get every vitamin, mineral, and nutrient that the human body needs. Even when we lead the healthiest lifestyles possible, sometimes our bodies need a little help. Adding vitamins and supplements (like those from Gotu Kola) to our daily routines helps to boost energy and fill any gaps with our nutrition that we miss in our diets and exercise regimes.
Shop Organic when Possible
Whole foods are important to a healthy diet, but taking that a step further and shopping organic can have even more of a substantial impact. When possible driving that extra twenty minutes or going out of your way to get to a farmers’ market or an organic fruit and vegetable store can and does make a difference. Eating as organically as possible allows us to fuel our bodies with natural sources of energy, rather than those that have been sprayed with pesticides and other chemicals to obtain their visual appeal. Try to remember that just because you are eating well by consuming fruits and vegetables, you can always eat better when you shop organically.
