- Ethyl Alcohol or 99% isopropyl alcohol
- 4 drops of Tea tree essential oil
- 8 drops of Peppermint essential oil
- 1/8 Sweet orange essential oil
- Aloe Vera juice
Mix everything well and put this mixture in a clean dry spray bottle.
Lavender Palm Sanitizer

- 2/3 cup of rubbing alcohol
- 1/3 cup of Aloe Vera Gel

You can increase the amount of alcohol for significant results. Don’t increase the amount of alcohol because it would dry your hands so always keep aloe Vera amount greater than alcohol to bring moisture back. Lavender oil is a soothing oil for skin.
Alcohol Palm Sanitizer
DIY hand sanitizers with isopropyl and ethyl alcohol are much more effective to disinfect your hands. Isopropyl alcohol is best for disinfecting. You can also use vodka or grain alcohol. All you need is to take:
- 2-ounce aloe vera gel
- 6-ounce vodka or grain alcohol
Combine both ingredients well and make sure there is no lump in hand sanitizer. Once you are done with the mixture, then add this mixture into the container. It’s up to you to add different essential oils in this formulation for a refreshing fragrance.
Citrus Palm Sanitizer

Take the following things for citrus hand sanitizers:
- 5 drops vitamin E oil
- 5 drops lemon essential oil

Spray Sanitizer
Here we are going to share spray formulation as per described by WHO. Take a look and make this at home:
- 1 cup of isopropyl alcohol
- 1 tbsp. of hydrogen peroxide
- 1 tsp of glycerin
- 1.4 cup of sterile, cold water
Pour alcohol and then add hydrogen peroxide. Make sure you have added glycerin and combine it well. Sanitize the spray bottle as well and then add mixture in this.
Gel Palm Sanitizer
Use Aloe Vera gel and then add germ-fighting rubbing alcohol along with essential oils to make this gel hand sanitizer. Take:
- White distilled vinegar
- Aloe Vera gel
- Essential oil
- Rubbing alcohol
Mix filtered water and Aloe Vera with ½ cup of white distilled vinegar along with essential oil of your choice.
Palm Sanitizer without Aloe Vera gel
Hand sanitizer can be made without aloe Vera gel, and it is substituted with glycerin. Aloe Vera gel is used for moisturizing, but glycerin also has excellent moisturizing properties and won’t dry your hands with alcohol. Just mix glycerin with rubbing alcohol and pour it in a container for further use.
The shelf life of DIY Palm Sanitizer
Market-based hand sanitizers have high alcohol content, and it can live up to several months, but DIY hand sanitizers have essential oils, so it needs to be kept away from heat and direct sunlight.
