LIC has recently released the LIC AAO Notification on 2nd March 2019. The most waited and anticipated notification is out and the process of application has started from 2nd March 2019.
- The Prelims Exam date is on 3rd and 4th of May 2019.
- The Mains Exam has been scheduled on 28th June 2019.
Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is inviting online applications from all eligible Indian citizens for Assistant Administrative Officer (Generalist / IT / CA / Actuarial / Rajbhasha).
Candidates are requested to apply through online only. The total number of vacancies for AAO post right now is 590. The reservations for SC/ST and other backward classes, below poverty sections and persons with particular disabilities are given LIC official website under notification section.
The total number of vacancies mentioned presently may be varied according to requirements.
The reservation for all categories will be according to Government guidelines at the final result time.

Service
The service will be applied according to prevalent rules of LIC. After the post-confirmation on an appointment, they can be subsequently transferred to anywhere in India. After the successful selection and completion of the training process, they will be posted for a minimum period of 3 years in branches outside their home zones.
Probationary period
A candidate after appointed as AAO will be on probation for one year from the day of joining. Which can be extended up to 2 years.
Guarantee Agreements
At the time of joining as a probationary officer, they will be undertaking to serve LIC for a minimum of 4 years from the day of joining.
- Application fees / Intimation Charges (Non Refundable).
- For SC/ST fee is of Rs.100/- plus transaction charges.
- For other candidates Application fee + Intimation charges of Rs. 600 plus Transaction charges.
Selection Procedure
Selection of AAO officers will be done through 3 stage process i.e. continued with Pre-recruitment Medical Examination. The knowledge in the English language will only be for qualifying purpose and not involved in the ranking process.
The structure and pattern of the exam will be intimated through the official website. Candidates require to obtain minimum qualifying marks in each section and also in the English language to get qualified for exams and interviews. Only qualified candidates Descriptive papers will be evaluated one who qualifies in objective part of mains exam. The candidate scores of different sections are measured using a different method called equipercentile method.
The Examination scores are adopted by the following procedures
The number of questions answered correctly by candidates in every objective test is considered for Score. The score obtained is made equivalent to equated scores. Test wise and total scores of the exam are reported according to the decimal point up to 2 digits.
Guidelines for Online Prelims and Mains Exam
The documents that need to be submitted at the time of the application process are:
- Valid call letter.
- Photo Id proof with the same name as that in call letter or application form.
- Photocopy of Photo ID proof Copy.
Candidates reporting late will not be permitted to attend the exam. There may be a need for candidate to be at the premises for a longer period including some formalities completing procedures login, documents requisite, verification etc.
Pre-Recruitment Medical Examination
Candidates who have been shortlisted in final merit need to undergo this Pre-Recruitment Medical Examination. If the result of the exam is found medically fit, the appointment will be offered.
Important Instructions – All the eligibility conditions like age, qualification, caste should be satisfied. If found ineligible, their application will be cancelled at any stage. The fess paid by these candidates will be forfeited. The selection procedure for the recruitment of candidate is completely under the LIC decision including eligibility, recruitment and selection of the candidate. LIC is not going to encourage giving any information regarding these things to candidates. After applying online, the candidates should obtain the print out of the application. The option for printing the online application will be available until 22.03.2019 only.
Candidates need to carry their online application printout that has a sign on it when they have been called for the interview and submit the same. Need to submit Receipt of fee and also produce original and self-attested Photocopies of all relevant certificates at the time of the interview, failing which their application will be canceled. Application once submitted cannot be withdrawn and the fee once paid will not be refunded. There is Once the application is withdrawn for the reason of not giving any related information, cannot be able to carry forward the application for any other recruitment process.
Issuing Call Letters for online examination
Candidates will have to visit the website under the heading “Careers” of LIC official website i.e. https://www.licindia.in/careers for downloading call letters for online Prelims exams from 22.04.2019 to 30.04.2019 from the given link. The call letter need to be downloaded, the information related to this is sent through mobile SMS or through Mail. when the candidate clicks on the particular link , they can access the downloading decision letter window.
The candidate is needed to use Registration Number/Roll variety, Password/Date of Birth for downloading the call letter.
Candidate ought to affix recent recognizable photograph on the decision constant as provided throughout registration and go to the examination center with the decision Letter, image Identity Proof as given in the decision Letter and image copy of an equivalent Photo Identity proof.
