Vinegar

Vinegar is a sour liquid that many people use in cooking and cleaning. It is made by fermenting alcohol which means that tiny living things called yeast and bacteria turn the alcohol into acid. In cooking vinegar is often used in salad dressings marinades and sauces. It can add a tangy taste to foods. For example when you make a salad dressing mixing vinegar with oil herbs and spices creates a delicious topping for vegetables. Some people also use vinegar to pickle vegetables making them taste sour and crunchy.
