Mahindra is setting up for the launch of its new model U321 under the MPV segment by early 2018.

The design of the MPV U321 will be based on the monocoque platform, which is likely to be lighter than its rival Innova. The exterior of the model is expected to have a boxy appearance with multiple creases and curves at the right places to attract a huge number of buyers. The upcoming MPV is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre mHawk diesel engine, which produces a maximum power of 140 bhp and a peak torque of 320 Nm, while it is expected to be introduced in a 1.6-litre petrol engine variant also. Mahindra India had earlier showcased the XUV Aero for the first time at the 2016 Auto Expo and it is expected to be launched either by the end of 2017 or early 2018.

It is an upcoming SUV, which is designed on the basis of futuristic design concept with a coupe-like design at the rear end to allow lower air resistance while moving against the air. Hence the name Aero. The exterior of the model looks dynamic with new projector headlights, aggressive looking bonnet and the front grille. While, the interior will feature innovative designs with packed equipment like information instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system and surrounding air bags.

The Indian-spec model will feature both the options of diesel and petrol engine in the power system. The diesel unit will get the power from a 2.0-litre mHawk engine, which churns out a maximum power output of 140 bhp against a peak torque of 320 Nm. On the other hand, the petrol variant will grab a maximum power output of 212 bhp from the 2.2-litre engine. Both the engines will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the option of a 6-speed automatic gearbox may also be available.

Mahindra XUV 700 is expected to be unveiled at the Auto Expo 2018 and the launch could be around mid-2018.

The new model will borrow its design from the 2018 SsangYong Rexton, with some unique styling of Mahindra. It will get a new grille at the front-end and a new set of alloy wheels. The inside cabin of the vehicle will feature a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, equipped with all latest technology and a 10.1-inch screen for rear passengers.

The seven-seater SUV is most likely to get its power from a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel unit, which will produce a maximum power output of 184 bhp and a peak torque of 420 Nm. The engine will be paired to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed automatic gearbox, as transmission options. The carmaker can introduce a 2.0-litre petrol engine to the line-up later, which will develop a maximum power of 225 bhp.

Mahindra is planning to launch its new product, Mahindra S201 in the sub-compact SUV segment by the end of 2018.

The India-bound model will be built on the Ssang Yong’s X100 platform with some advanced styling features. It will offer a sporty look with a newly designed grille, sculpted bonnet, headlamps with LED lamps and an aggressive bumper. The interior will feature a 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include reverse parking camera and navigation system as standard.

The sub-compact SUV is expected to be introduced in the diesel and petrol variants. The petrol version will offer a 1.5-litre engine to develop a maximum power output of 100 bhp and a peak torque of 140 Nm. While the oil burner unit will be powered by a 1.5-litre mHawk engine to churn out a maximum power output of 100 bhp against a peak torque of 240 Nm. Transmission option includes a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Mahindra KUV 100 (Facelift)

Mahindra KUV 100 has been a successful model and is soon due to get a facelift. Mahindra has plans to launch a facelifted version of the model with some notable changes by the end of 2017.

The updated version of Mahindra KUV 100 comes with a revised design at the front and rear ends, while the aggressiveness and boldness of the predecessor are retained. The exterior appears attractive with more mature styling, while the interior looks freshly designed with minor changes in the feature list.

The uplifted version of KUV 100 will sport the same diesel and petrol engine variants from its predecessor. The petrol variant will offer a 1.2-litre G80 engine, which is expected to develop a maximum power output of 82 bhp and a peak torque of 114 Nm. On the other side, the diesel version will get its power from a 1.2-litre D75 turbocharged engine to produce a maximum power output of 77 bhp and a peak torque of 190 Nm. Both the engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox, while the automatic version may be introduced later.
