Health Insurance Policy

A health insurance policy is a type of agreement between a person and an insurance company. In this agreement the person pays a certain amount of money called a premium usually every month. In return the insurance company promises to help pay for medical costs when the person gets sick or hurt. When you have health insurance you can see doctors go to hospitals and get medicine without paying all the costs yourself. Instead the insurance company pays a big part of those costs. However there are some rules. Most policies require the person to pay a smaller amount called a co-pay or deductible before the insurance starts to help.
