How to prepare popular Rajo poda pitha recipe in Ovan?

Raja is a famous festival in Odisha. Just after summer June 14th is the date of festival. Rajo Celebration goes for 3 days. In this occasion a cake is famous from Oriya recipes. In Oriya this cake is called “PODA PITHA”. The famous lord Jagannath loves to eat Poda Pitha. With this article let me share the steps how to prepare this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 500gm Arua Rice
  • 250gm White Gram
  • 500gm Jaggery
  • 200gm Cashew
  • 2 Coconuts
  • Salt as Required
  • 10 pieces Green Cardamom
  • Black Pepper

Steps to Prepare

Soak Arua Rice & White Gram 6 to 8 hours. If you are looking prepare poda pitha on 14th then on 13th night Soak Rice & White Gram. In morning remove excess water from the mixer & grind it well.

Mix Jaggery, Cashew powder, Green Cardamom with the paste of rice & gram. Add salt as required.

Cut the coconut in to small pieces. Mix it with the above.

Take a pan put some little oil. Put the paste in pan.

Switch on the ovan. Keep the filled pan inside. After 15 minute in each 5 minute interval keep checking the cake condition. When the top portion will look little dark brown switch off the ovan. Your poda pitha is ready.

Take it to a plate. Cut this like a happy birth day cake. Serve it to your family members.
