How to make Curd Rice (Andhra style Dahi Annam)?

Curd Rice is a popular recipe of Andhra. In South India due to high volume of heat this recipe helps to keep balance in body temperature. In hot summer this is a good food. Many curd lovers like to eat Curd Rice. The days I am in South India most often time in Summer I prefer to eat Curd Rice. I love this dish so much. My wife is an expert to prepare Curd Rice recipe. Ingredients

  • Basumati Rice
  • Curd
  • Jeera & Mustard Seeds
  • Cashew
  • Cooking Oil
  • Red Chillies
  • Curry leaves
  • Salt as required

Steps to make Curd Rice recipe

Wash the Basumati Rice well. Keep it in plate. Switch on the Gas. Put a bowl. Cook the rice.

Put an another pan. Add some cooking oil. Fry Cashew still it look light brown. Keep it in a plate. Add some Cooking oil. Put jeera & mustard seeds. After 2 minutes add red chillies & Curry Leaves. Fry it for 2 to 3 minutes. Then add Curd in it. Put some little water up-to it will look gravy. Add Salt as required. Now add boiled basumati rice in to boiling curd. Keep it in cover. Cook 5 to 7 minutes. Switch off the gas & take it in plate. For 10 to 15 minutes keep it in freeze. Before serve add some Cashew nuts on Curd rice.
